Fees and Insurance
-
In the decolonization of mental health, equity and accessibility are crucial. Therefore, you choose your own fee for services within the following scale:
$90-$150 per hour of individual, family, and couple’s therapy.
The rate you choose is the rate that your sessions will be!
-
For reduced rates, I go through Open Path Collective, a non-profit organization that enables access to more affordable therapy services. These reduced rates are limited, so please ask about availability before getting started. You choose your own fee for services within the following scales:
$40-70 per hour of individual psychotherapy
$40-80 per hour of family or couple’s therapy
-
I am also open to limited bartering agreements for therapy services. If, for whatever reason, the aforementioned sliding scales are not feasible, we may discuss trading goods or services in place of fees—provided the exchange is fair, mutually agreed upon, and upholds the integrity of our work together.
In addition, I am required to meet the following ethical guidelines:
The request must come from you, the client/therapy participant(s).
The exchange must feel equitable and never exploitative.
A written agreement outlining terms will be created beforehand.
If this is an option you’d like to explore, let’s discuss it in consultation!
Using Health Insurance
While I accept some insurance plans to improve accessibility, it’s important to consider how using insurance may impact your care:
Autonomy & Privacy
Insurance companies often require a mental health diagnosis, limit session quantity, and review your treatment plan—which can affect your confidentiality and control over your therapy. If you’re seeking support for life transitions, personal growth, or concerns that don’t fit a diagnosable condition, insurance may deny coverage. Many clients choose to pay out-of-pocket to protect their privacy, avoid higher deductible fees, and to ensure their care isn’t dictated by an insurer.
Financial Responsibility
You are responsible for all fees, regardless of insurance reimbursement.
If a claim is denied, your card on file will be charged for the session fee (you’ll always be notified first).
As an out-of-network provider, I can provide invoices for you to submit for potential reimbursement—but approval is at your insurer’s discretion.
